Rising to Success (R2S) works to break down barriers to student success by providing inclusive learning environments supported through increased access to and enrollment in SDCE’s FREE career training programs and targeted student support programs.
Technology Access Project
SDCCE’s TAP (Technology Access Project) provides students computers to complete classes and programs, transition to credit college, and/or reach their career goals. Eligible students may request a computer through the application here. A limited number of computers are available and applications are accepted first come, first serve based on need priority (eligibility). Students are NOT guaranteed a computer by completing the required application form. Students distributed a computer are expected to complete the required intake process and a digital literacy course or series of workshops.
The City of San Diego provided 625 computers and hotspots to eligible City residents through the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Digital Literacy Project awarded to the San Diego College of Continuing Education Foundation. Grant funds allowed SDCCE to serve 1,000 City of San Diego residents by providing access to computers, Wi-Fi, and digital literacy. The program has distributed all of its computers and hotspots.
