Dear SDCCE Community and Supporters,
I'm excited to share that the Harbor View Campus Renaming Restorative Circles are officially underway. On September 3, we held our first full day of restorative circles, with both afternoon and evening sessions.
The voices of our students, employees, alumni, local residents, and community partners are at the heart of Campus Built Together. Through this community-driven process, we are working together to identify a permanent name for SDCCE's Harbor View Campus that reflects the communities we serve. Thank you to everyone who joined us, shared your perspectives, and helped us begin this important community conversation.
Restorative circles provide a space for participants to listen, reflect, and share their perspectives in an inclusive and respectful setting. What we hear throughout this process will help inform the future identity of our campus and ensure our community has meaningful opportunities to be part of the conversation.
More opportunities to participate are coming soon. Six additional Harbor View Restorative Renaming Circles will take place throughout the fall semester at Harbor View Campus, Mid-City Campus, and via Zoom. We'll share dates and details soon so everyone has an opportunity to participate and have their voices heard.
You can learn more about our Campus Built Together campaign, the naming process, project timeline, and upcoming opportunities to participate by visiting our Campus Built Together landing page.
We encourage you to join an upcoming circle and lend your voice to this important process. Thank you for being part of Campus Built Together.
