Welcome! Please navigate through the webpage to learn more about the CalWORKs program and services. CalWORKs services are available for eligible students enrolled at any of SDCCE’s campuses.
CalWORKs Eligibility Requirements
-
Must be enrolled in Welfare-to-Work Program with the County of San Diego
-
Two Parent or Single Parent households w/child(ren) under 18 years old
-
Must be currently enrolled and attending class(es) at SDCCE
CalWORKs Supportive Services
- Academic, Career and Personal Counseling
- Work-based learning opportunities through work study
- Student success workshops
- Support with Monthly Attendance Report Form (116 form)
- Development of Individual Training Plan (ITPs) at the beginning of each semester, and whenever changes need to be made
- Resources and Referrals to other student support programs, on and off campus
- Advocacy to ensure receipt of supportive services (childcare, transportation, mileage reimbursement, required textbooks, class supplies/materials, and other ancillary payment related to training)

To be referred for Work Study, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be an active CalWORKs / Welfare to Work cash Aid recipient,
- ESL students must have completed level 4 or above,
- and Complete Required Career readiness.
