SDCCE to Commemorate Juneteenth with Celebration of Freedom

San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) will commemorate Juneteenth with a celebration of freedom on Thursday, June 18, 2026, from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on the front lawn of the Educational Cultural Complex (4343 Ocean View Blvd). The free event will feature live music, dance, poetry, and a Freedom in the Future presentation and is open to the public.

SDCCE Reaches Historic Commencement Milestone in Post-Pandemic Era​

This Tuesday, San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) will celebrate a historic milestone as it confers 11,122 certificates and diplomas to adult learners from across San Diego County, the highest number in the institution’s history following the COVID-19 pandemic. The 2026 joint commencement ceremony with San Diego Unified School District (SDUSD) will take place Tuesday, June 2, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Town and Country Resort in Mission Valley.

SDCCE Awards 124 Students with $95,000 in Scholarships at Open House Event​

On Tuesday, April 21, San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) awarded $95,000 in scholarships to 124 students during its Open House Scholarship and Awards Celebration, held from 4–6 p.m. at North City Campus (8355 Aero Dr.). Hosted by the Office of Student Affairs and the SDCCE Foundation, the annual event provides adult learners with critical financial support to transition into career and college.

Hoop Hysteria is more than a tournament—it is a community-driven effort to raise critical funds that help meet the basic needs of students attending the college. Proceeds from the event will support student support programs, including basic needs and food security initiatives that help ensure learners can focus on their education rather than worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Dr. Tina M. King of San Diego College of Continuing Education Chosen for the Aspen Institute Presidents Fellowship

Today, the Aspen Institute College Excellence Program (Aspen) announced that Tina M. King, Ed.D, President at San Diego College of Continuing Education is one of 23 community college presidents selected to participate in the third cohort of the Aspen Presidents Fellowship, a unique year-long professional development experience supported by JPMorganChase. During the program, presidents will develop a reform agenda that helps more of their students graduate into good jobs, either directly after community college or following transfer and bachelor degree attainment.
