Awards

An award is a designated monetary amount or item of value – especially items specific to a given subject-matter area, such as equipment, specialized uniforms, or textbooks – which is presented to a student who has demonstrated either the achievement of an established set of specific criteria that leads to a single eligible recipient (or equal awards for all such individuals so eligible); or selection based upon a nomination process, initiated by any member of the campus community, including the student themselves. Award nominations are supported by documentation (e.g. narratives, citations, grades/transcripts, etc.) which demonstrates the required outstanding achievement for which the award is established.

Last year’s awards included: Phu Achievement Award; San Diego Gateway to College @ Career; Gateway Transition to College Award; and 2019 Ambassador Inter Award.

In accordance with SDCCD Board Policy 3410 and SDCE Foundation Board Policy 01-1920 (pend.), on Nondiscrimination, the Scholarship and Awards Program provides equal opportunity and access for all students. Students who are awarded scholarships will be recognized during the annual scholarship awards event.
