SDCE Students Celebrate Dia De Los Muertos with Traditional Sugar Skull Makeup
Mountain View, CA. — On Thursday, November 2, from 11:00am – 12:30pm, San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) will host their 2nd annual Día de los Muertos celebration.
SDCE students will showcase their artistic skills in a friendly altar competition and share the rich history of the Mexican holiday. “I am eager to see the altar completion for the second time. Last year was amazing. The atmosphere and energy was incredible. Our diverse students get to experience a true cultural event,” said Sany Ramirez, SDCE faculty.
Students, faculty and community members are invited to attend the free event and are encouraged to bring something to honor a loved one.
“Honoring Día de los Muertos on campus is a great way to show respect to our ancestors and teach our students that we can learn from all cultures,” said Roy Hernandez, SDCE Faculty. Hernandez will be decorating attendees with a traditional sugar skull face painting beginning 11:30am.
