SDCCE scholarship application deadline is Thursday, February 9, 2023, 6:30pm.

Completing the Online Application May Make You Eligible for One or More Scholarships

Students must meet the following minimum application requirements to be eligible for a scholarship.

  • Currently-enrolled student for the 2022-23 academic year at SDCCE
  • Attend 100 hours or more of SDCCE classes between Spring 2022, Summer 2022 and Fall 2022
  • Demonstrate satisfactory attendance and progress in courses
  • Complete the online scholarship application, including responses to the following questions:
    1. Why are you attending San Diego College of Continuing Education, and what do you hope to accomplish here?
    2. What challenges/obstacles have you overcome to complete your educational goals? You can consider such things as a disability, being a single parent, being a returning or first-time student, being a veteran, being in recovery, or any other life experiences.
    3. What do you plan to do after you complete your current educational/career goals?
    4. Describe your participation in community service or leadership activities, at school or in your community (This question is designated as optional on the application, but is used for determining recipients for several scholarship/award opportunities).

Some scholarships require a student to meet criteria in addition to the basic application and minimum qualifications to be considered. Additional criteria are listed below the scholarship.

  • Autumn Keltner Memorial Scholarship
  • Barbara Raifsnider Memorial Scholarship
    • Current English as a Second Language student
  • Bitterlin/Howard Scholarship
  • Board of Trustees Scholarship by the Christensen Foundation
    • Completing a Career Technical Program
    • High Academic achievement
    • Planning to pursue completion of an AA or BA degree
  • CE Counseling Faculty Scholarship
  • CE Employee Giving Fund Scholarship
  • Chancellor’s Scholarship
  • Classified Senate Scholarship
  • Daniel Rameriz Rolon/John J. Schlegel Memorial Scholarship
    • Completed, or nearing completion, in a career/technical program
    • Intending to further education at an accredited two- or four-year institution
  • Dr. A. Thomas Wilson Memorial Scholarship
  • Edith Dabbs Scholarship
    • Female César Chávez Campus student
    • Have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
    • Sole provider for one or more children
    • Current Career Technical Program student
    • Planning to attend college by Fall/September 2023
  • Florence ‘Mickey’ Dowd Memorial Scholarship
    • Married or Single Mother
    • Working part-time or full-time
  • George and Elaine Matteson Memorial Scholarship
  • Ina Porter Memorial Scholarship
    • Current High School Diploma or High School Equivalency student
  • Los Dos Chefs Scholarship
    • Have a High School Diploma or High School Equivalency
    • Demonstrated financial need
    • Enroll in minimum of 6 units at San Diego City, Mesa, or Miramar College for 2023-24 academic year
  • Management Association Scholarship
    • Demonstrate Community Service
  • Matthew LaCaze Memorial Scholarship
    • North City Campus Student
    • Enrolled in High School Diploma Program and complete by June 2023
    • Enroll in minimum of 6 units at San Diego City, Mesa, or Miramar College for 2023-24 academic year
  • Minarokh Hamzavi Memorial Scholarship
    • Mid-City Campus Student
    • Current English as a Second Language and/or Citizenship student
  • Norma Ledesma Memorial Scholarship
    • Current English as a Second Language student
    • Planning to or has transitioned to High School Equivalency, Business Information Worker, or College
  • President’s Scholarship
    • Continuing student for subsequent semester/academic year at SDCCE
    • Demonstrate leadership to SDCCE through active involvement in ASB and/or participatory governance
  • Stephen All Memorial Scholarship
