More than 40 students in an English as a Second Language Level 5 class hosted special guest speaker Bob Gannon to the Educational Cultural Complex. Pilot Gannon, originally from the Midwest, has traveled the globe and flown around the world twice in his Cessna 182 aircraft. His presentation included stories about his adventures, wonderful photographs, and an extensive use of maps—a perfect complement to instructor Mimi Pollack’s EL Civics lesson on Cultural Differences.

“My theme this semester is understanding different cultures—including American culture—and cultural awareness,” said Pollack. “Bob appreciates the diversity within the immigrant community of students in Continuing Education classrooms and he welcomed the invitation to speak.”
