Southeastern San Diego Invited to Industry Wide Job Fair

San Diego Continuing Education students’ network with child development employer during Job FairSan Diego Continuing Education (SDCE), California’s largest noncredit institution, will host an Industry Wide Job Fair from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Educational Cultural Complex (4343 Ocean View Blvd. San Diego, CA 92113). SDCE students, recent graduates and community members are invited to network with potential employers from many industries including automotive, digital media to health and hospitality.

Representatives from 40 well-known employers will be on-hand to find new talent and to provide information about internships and current job openings in San Diego. Participating vendors include, Amazon, MTS, St. Paul's Senior Services, Penske, Radius Aerospace, YMCA, The Arc of San Diego, and Catamaran Resort Hotel and Spa. The event is free and open to the public. Attendees are encouraged to bring their resumes as some employers will offer on-the-spot interviews.

SDCE provides free accelerated career training in priority workforce sectors such as Skilled and Technical Trades, Child Development and Business, so students can find work with living wages immediately after graduation. SDCE has been named the Entrepreneurial College of the Year by the National Association of Community College Entrepreneurship. 

By March 2019, SDCE opened six Career and College Transition and Rising to Success Centers to provide adult learners with dedicated career planning assistance including resume critiques, interviews, job search strategies, career assessments, exploration and research, decision making, goal setting, and direct help with transition to college and/or employment.

Along with seven campuses and 200 offsite locations, SDCE, is part of the award-winning San Diego Community College District (SDCCD). Many students achieve a high school diploma and/or career training certificate at SDCE and then transition to a SDCCD college, City, Mesa or Miramar.
