1stGen is an affinity group intended for faculty and staff who are first generation college graduates or college professionals. This group will create space for members to share their experience, new ideas, celebrate milestones, and reflect on their educational journey and the role they play in the educational journey of our students.
OUR GOALS:
- Celebrate the diversity of our staff members, while also offering a safe space on campus to share, support, and learn about each other
- Support the institution’s DEIAA goals by creating a space that affirms the intersectional nature of identity and experience.
Create a sense of belonging and engagement.
Uplift and center the experience first generation college graduates and professionals bring to academic culture.
