Dr. Lisa Carulli is a San Diego State Alumni, possessing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Therapeutic Recreation, a Master of Science degree in Rehabilitation Counseling and a Doctorate degree in Educational Leadership. Prior to working as a general counselor for San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE), Lisa specialized in working with students in SDCE’s Acquired Brain Injury Program (ABI) for over 10 years and served as a Disability support programs and services counselor and instructor with SDCE.  During her tenure with the San Diego Community College district she has served at all three colleges within the district but enjoys working most with the diverse student population of continuing education. She also worked at Grossmont and Southwestern Colleges, serving students with disabilities and veteran students. Prior to her career in academia, Lisa served as a vocational counselor in the private sector, helping injured workers return to gainful employment.   

Currently at West City, Lisa assists students with who are interested in obtaining certification in the Foods and Nutrition, Culinary Arts and Sciences and Child Development programs. She is also a certified SafeZone trainer, helping to make continuing education classrooms inclusive for the LGBTQ+ student community. She is committed to fostering student equity and student success.

In her spare time, Lisa surfs every day, practices yoga, and enjoys traveling and exploring the tide pools with her son Jojo.
