San Diegans are looking beyond a high school education toward their futures, and figuring out which industries are hiring and where they can find good jobs to earn a family-wage. Continuing Education is a positive first step for many students.
Continuing Education is focused on helping San Diegans train for jobs, and this is not a new-found focus. Job training has been, and remains, an important goal for Continuing Education. Year after year, more than 74,000 students are served annually at six Continuing Education campuses and at many offsite community locations.
Tens of thousands of these San Diegans have only one goal in mind: Improve skills for employment.
The need for quick, short-term job training is essential for San Diegans, and Continuing Education is meeting this need. Free job training in career and technical education can lead to career-track jobs in high-demand areas.
Examples include automotive technicians, computer support specialists, administrative assistants, family home day care providers, and nursing aides. Continuing Education program completers are able to enter the workforce with a valuable, specialized skill.
