The SDCCE Outreach Team, along with faculty and representatives from Counseling and Career Services, Culinary Arts, and Child Development, recently attended the annual San Diego Cal-SOAP College & Career Fair. SDCCE had a huge presence at this event with the placement of our Outreach Coordinator on the planning board, 7 ambassadors supporting with event set-up and registration, and 4 tables in the fair staffed by faculty and counselors. The event featured representation from over 80 colleges and universities, providing hundreds of students and their families with the chance to explore our tables and discover more about SDCCE!

Tomorrow is Giving Day, a chance to support students through the San Diego Promise! Since 2016, the San Diego Promise has been turning this vision into reality, offering two years of free college tuition to more than 6,000 students across the San Diego Community College District.
On October 29, during our Keeping the Promise Giving Day, every donation will directly impact the dreams and imaginations of San Diego Promise students at City, Mesa, and Miramar colleges, including our students who transition to these colleges.
In celebration of Giving Day, the San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) will provide FREE ice cream sandwiches to the first 150 students who visit the ice cream truck tomorrow at the Educational Cultural Complex from 3:15 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Visit the SDCCD website to make a donation!

President's Updates

I was honored to serve as the keynote speaker at the Distance Education Accrediting Commission (DEAC) fall workshop recently, and for the opportunity to share SDCCE's mission and data-driven accreditation journey.
I am also thankful for the opportunity to attend the Association of Community College Trustees (ACCT) Congress and present "Revolutionizing Education: Paving Pathways from Noncredit CTE Programs to Credit Pathways, Associate Degrees, and Bachelor’s Degrees for Underrepresented Students" with our Board of Trustees, Chancellor Gregory Smith and Miramar College President, P. Wesley Lundburg, to share the noncredit to credit alignment pathways we have created to support our noncredit students.
It was a pleasure to welcome colleagues and leaders from Imperial Valley College to share more about our noncredit offerings and programs!
