In recognition of Parkinson’s Awareness Month and World Parkinson’s Day on April 11th, I have organized a two-hour webinar to increase students' knowledge and awareness of Parkinson’s disease. The event will feature two guest speakers from Parkinson's Association and UC San Diego who will deliver in-depth information on various aspects of Parkinson's disease, and I will be facilitating by introducing the speakers and wrapping up the session. The webinar will be divided into two parts:Part One:1.    Introduction to Parkinson's Disease2.    Understanding the Impact of Parkinson's on the Brain3.    Early Signs and Diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease4.    Managing Parkinson's Disease: Treatment Options5.    Current Research and Future Outlook6.    Q&A and Open Discussion

Part Two:1.    Living with Parkinson's Disease2.    Exercise and Movement for Parkinson’s Patients3.    Nutrition and Lifestyle Choices for Parkinson’s Patients4.    Caregiving: Supporting Loved Ones with Parkinson’s5.    Q&A and Open Discussion

Given the educational value and the significant impact of the content being covered, I would like to offer flex credit to all faculty members who participate in the webinar. I believe the event will be an excellent opportunity for faculty to enhance their understanding of Parkinson’s disease, as well as to further their professional development in a meaningful way.
