What is required to earn a high school diploma?
Based on the transcript analysis conducted by an SDCCE Admission & Records or Counseling Department, you will get help determining which credits you can “transfer into” or bring into the high school diploma offered at SDCCE.
Required Credits
- Language Arts (6 credits) – Including English 3 & 4 and American Literature 1 & 2
- Social Studies (6 credits) – World History 1 & 2, U.S. History 1 & 2, Government, and Economics
- Mathematics (4 credits) – Including Algebra 1 & 2 or higher
- Science (4 credits) – Including Biology 1 & 2, plus 2 credits of Physical Science (e.g., Earth Science 1 & 2)
- Fine Arts, Foreign Language, or Career Technology Education (2 credits)
- Completion of a non-remedial 2-unit college course (equivalent to two semesters of high school credit)
- A minimum 2.0 GPA is required, and approved college courses may substitute for high school courses.
