SLO Taskforce

Welcome to the San Diego Continuing Education Outcomes and Assessment page. San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) embraces the assessment of student learning and views it as one of the foundations of institutional effectiveness and student success.

The Student Learning Outcomes Taskforce helps to oversee SLO efforts and supports shared governance. Its purpose is to guide the development of Student Learning Outcomes and Assessment throughout San Diego Continuing Education in accordance with accreditation standards. The committee meets once a month.

The SLO Taskforce:

  • Provides advice and guidance on the development and implementation of student learning outcomes and assessment
  • Assists in communication about SLOs and assessment to departments, special programs, and other participatory governance groups represented by members
  • Reviews data and assesses progress made by the institution on SLOs
  • Recommends changes to maintain progress
  • Encourages responsible involvement by students in their educational progress
  • Showcases SLO efforts and promotes the institution-wide understanding and integration of SLOs
