Transfer Students: How SDCCD Tracks and Reports on Student Transfer

Join this workshop to learn the different methods and definitions utilized to track and report SDCCD students that have transferred to other institutions. Content will include a description of the different transfer metrics reported and their meaning, an explanation of the different external sites that we use to track our students and why those counts can differ, a review of SDCCD transfer data, and possible strategies we can use to enhance our SCFF transfer funding. Ppt and Power Bi Dashboards will be used.

Audience: Classified Staff, Faculty, Managers

Learning Outcomes:

1. Attendees will learn to differentiate between transfer volume and transfer rate and the meaning/usage of each.

2. Attendees will gain a basic understanding of the difference between transfer counts reported from National Student Clearinghouse sources vs. CSU/UC analytic sources vs Student Centered Funding Formula and why we utilize all three.

3. Attendees will learn about where SDCCD stands in relation to other Region X CCC’s and statewide CCC’s.

4. Attendees will learn strategies that can be utilized to maximize our transfer funding stream.
