The Accreditation process is moving at a fast pace, and our Accreditation team has been working diligently to meet our deadlines. The third draft of the Self-Study was posted on the Accreditation Website for review and input by all stakeholders. The last day to provide digital comments on the third draft was May 13, 2016. The Work and Focus groups have already been working on the fourth draft of theSelf-Study which includes the new Mission and Vision Statements that were approved by the Board of Trustees:

Vision Statement: To be the leader in innovative education that transforms students’ lives

Mission Statement: San Diego Continuing Education commits to student success and community enrichment by providing accessible, equitable, and innovative quality education and support services to diverse adult learners in pursuit of lifelong learning, training, career advancement, and pathways to college.

The first joint Accreditation/Strategic Planning meeting was held at North City Campus on May 16. Attendees discussed the integration of issues identified in the Self-Study with goals and objectives of the Strategic Action Plan and work on Chapter IV of the Self-Study: Revising the School Action Plan. The next Steering Committee meeting is scheduled for May 19 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. at ECC in Room 186. We will continue to have Steering Committee Meetings during the summer months.

The final draft of the Self-Study will be completed this summer and ready for vetting in early fall through our Shared Governance groups. The Self-Study will then go to the Chancellor and Board of Trustees for final approval. During the fall semester we will actively prepare for the Accreditation Site Visit that will take place March 13-16, 2017.
