AEBG September Update

The San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium Board has experienced a dramatic change in board membership.  In June, Rosa McCullom, the San Diego Unified faculty representative, requested to be acquitted from the Board shortly after Guttuso, Unified administrative representative, departed.  McCullom’s replacement has yet to be determined by SDUSD, however in late September, Andrea Vinson will officially be appointed by SDUSD as Marc Guttuso’s replacement.

San Diego Continuing Education SDAERC board membership is in flux as well with Lorie Howell temporarily replacing former Vice-President of Instruction Kate Alder.  Furthermore, to avoid any potential conflict of interest, the Academic Senate President was requested by President Cortez to appoint a faculty member to serve on the SDAERC Board who does not, not will not, produce an outcome for SDCE that is funded through the Adult Education Block Grant, precluding Rachel Rose from remaining on the SDAERC Board due to her work assisting the coordination of AEBG for SDCE.  The Academic Senate President, Richard Weinroth, temporarily appointed himself to replace Rose.
