AEBG Update January 2018

Congratulations to Magdalena Kwiatkowski who was selected to be a member of the state-wide Adult Education Block Grant Field Team through the sponsorship of the San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium.  Field Team members will gather in late spring to determine working groups with the following scope of responsibilities as outlined on aebg.org:

"The team will meet as needed or at a minimum quarterly (travel costs will be paid for by the consortium or member). Members will be briefed on relevant matters, actions, and issues by the AEBG office, and engage in facilitated discussion and problem solving to bring forth recommendations in the best interest of California’s adult learners, and that meet the goals of the AEBG legislation and funding requirements. The term of service for selected members will be three years (to coincide with the required consortium three year-planning process)."

An annual Adult Education Block Grant Summit is being held in Universal City, CA on Jan. 22-23, 2018.  Stakeholders from San Diego Unified as well as SDCE will attend.  For more information regarding the Summit and breakouts, visit  http://aebg.cccco.edu/2018-AEBG-TAP-Summit

A new Director for the San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium is being recruited with the deadline of January 15 to submit a letter of interest and resume.  If a qualified candidate is identified then the intended start date would be February 5, 2018.

All are welcome to attend the next San Diego Adult Education Regional Consortium public meeting at ECC from 2:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
