A New Partnership with the San Diego Rescue Mission

For the first time, San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) is providing free classes at the San Diego Rescue Mission (SDRM) in the areas of high school equivalency and parent education. This new community collaboration supports SDRM’s mission to provide education and vocational training to residents in its programs, and SDCE’s mission to make education equitable and accessible to everyone.

Flexible programming was identified as an important piece of the new partnership so classes will initially be offered Monday through Thursday in the evenings, with one option on Wednesday mornings. The program areas were selected based on an identified need specific to people receiving services from the SDRM; however, the classes are open to the public.

Mission: San Diego College of Continuing Education commits to student success and community enrichment by providing tuition-free, accessible, equitable, and innovative quality education and support services to diverse learners in pursuit of lifelong learning, training, career advancement, and pathways to credit college.read more about the SDCCE mission »
