A fall graduation ceremony celebrated San Diego Rescue Mission's (SDRM's) 12-month Recovery Program and its clients that complete the program. The event focused on SDRM clients successes and welcomes graduates into their next journey of success. San Diego Continuing Education (SDCE) was honored at the ceremony for the Rising to Success Pathways Program that delivers Career and College Readiness and job training programs that lead students to employment. SDCE students were awarded white cords symbolizing their successful completion of career training programs and received special recognition at the graduation.
Carlos O. Turner Cortez, Ph.D., SDCE President, and Maureen Rubalcaba, SDCE Dean of Student Equity and Outreach were in attendance to celebrate and honor the students.
As a reminder, SDCE and SDRM engaged in a new partnership this year that provides wrap-around services for individuals in need that would lead to employment. Students participate based on criterion developed by SDRM and those who are chosen must to be making positive progress toward graduation from the SDRM program.
