A Brave and Hard-working Mother

I'm thankful for my mom because when I was three years old, my dad passed away and left my mother with four kids.  She had to work very hard to raise her kids by herself; she couldn't even pay to have someone take care of us. I will never forget seeing my oldest brother using a cast on his legs and trying to feed us. I'm so proud of my mom and I admire her because she is a wonderful person and she knew how to keep going in life. Thanks to her I learned how to be brave and work very hard for my daughters, because one day I want them to be proud of me.

Twins

On November 18, 2013 my kids were born. They are twins. The girl Mia, and the boy Lav. I'm thankful because they are great kids and they make my life and my husband's life happy.

Forever in My Heart

I have many reasons to be thankful, but the number one reason is my mom. She is really patient. She had my sister and me when she was single. Even now, my mom continues to care for us. I can trust her. She is so honest. I always share my fears, my thoughts, and my problems with her. I know she can understand me and has good answers for the questions I have for her. My mother took care of me for all my life – that’s not easy for her alone. I’m pretty sure she is never going to give me back. I feel very lucky, absolutely proud, and grateful. I can’t imagine my life without her.

A Good Son

I am very thankful for my son, who has been a very good person. He is 21 years old. When he was a child, he had to do his homework alone in the house, because I was working in the afternoon and he was studying in the morning. When I came home, he was sleeping. He was a very responsible child. At that time we were living in Mexico. He was 15 years old when we decided to come to the United States. He started going to high school here. He didn’t speak English, but he learned quickly. He received his degree as a criminologist, and he is working now. We spend time together. We enjoy going to the beach and eating there. I am very proud of him.

Grateful for this Country

I am thankful for the opportunity to come to this country because it has totally changed my life. I am thankful for the chance to study and make one of my dreams come true. I have the opportunity to win and be someone in life. I am also grateful to my teachers for a lot of patience and giving us, students, their valuable time every day. I am grateful for everything I have in my life.

My Classmate Friends

I’m very thankful for my foreign friends. I met them in school, in the ESL classes. They have many different reasons why they came to the U.S. They are all very friendly. I am always curious about their national food. I always ask them “Please, show me how to cook some famous dishes from your country.” Some of them invited me to their house and taught me how to make their national food. I noticed that they were very proud to share this knowledge with me. Since then, we are very good friends. Our friendship helps me enjoy my U.S. life. Thank you very much!

Giving Thanks

I am giving thanks to God because I have healthy children and grandchildren. The Thanksgiving Day is very important to us, because this is one of the days when we get together with the whole family. We plan this celebrations many days ahead. We plan what kind of food we are going to cook. I usually make dinner rolls. It is a special recipe that I learned 29 years ago. I am giving thanks to God for every day that I can cook for my family. I am thankful for all the blessings.

The Good Example

I’ve been meeting some good people in my life that have had a good influence on me. But the main person that I’m really proud of, grateful for, and who has influenced my life the most, is my dad. His name is Paulo. He always knows how to cope with difficult situations, how to be calm and rational. When I have some problems, I go and ask him for help. He is reliable. He is respectful and friendly with all kinds of people. I just want to say thank you for having the best dad in the world.

Thankful for My Husband

I would like to be thankful for my husband who gave me all I would never have had alone. He has brought me more confidence, more serenity. Also he has allowed me to travel and discover other cultures. Without him I might have been too scared to do all the things we have done together. Furthermore, I am thankful for him being a good listener, a friend, a counselor, a manager, and my lover.

My name is Alex and I am thankful for my family and friends because when I need them I know I can count on them. I am also thankful that I live in the USA; this country gave us a lot of opportunities to work and go to school. I am thankful for my mom because she doesn’t give up on me. When I needed her the most she was there for me. My mom is still helping and teaching me. My brothers are my whole world because for seven years I was the only child. When they were born my world change for better; I have someone to play, laugh, and fight with.

My two rescue pets (dog) Peanut and (cat) Dami are my best friends. I am thankful I have people who love me and I love them but it is just too many names to say.

I am thankful for my great life in the USA, my great health, and to my God because without him, I don’t know where I will be. Thank you for this great life! I am living as a princess. Life is great to me and my loved ones. Life is beautiful. Live it happy and be healthy. Be good to it and it will be good too you.
