Veleka Iwuaba

A product of both SD City and SD Mesa colleges, Dr. Veleka Iwuaba has worked for SDCE as an adjunct instructor in the ABE/ASE program since 2015.  Most recently, Dr. Iwuaba has acted as instructor/facilitator for the college and career readiness courses and FELI,  the five-day professional development experience.

Dr. Iwuaba earned a BS in Biology from San Diego State University and a Ph.D. in Cancer Biology from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas, Dallas, Texas.  In this new position, Dr. Iwuaba hopes to use the CCR courses and FELI to bring together a community of educators in a framework of unity and cohesiveness that supports our students from as many angles as possible in hopes of early intervention to increase retention, engagement, and perseverance.
