Welcome New Faces!

Joyce Almario-Greno

Joyce has most recently been working at San Diego City College’s EOPS program and at San Diego Continuing Education as an adjunct counselor. However, this is not her first time working as a CE counselor. From 2001 to 2004 Joyce worked at the South Metro Career Center providing career counseling and career workshops for CE students. Joyce will be joining ECC and assisting with both the heavy vocational programs and ESL program levels 4 -7. She will also be supporting the LGBTQ Student Equity Resource Center located at ECC. Joyce’s official contract start date is August 31, 2016.

 

Olivia Flores

Olivia has most recently been working at several community colleges in the region to include; San Diego Mesa College in the STAR TRIO programs as an adjunct counselor, Grossmont College providing academic counseling and teaching Personal Development courses, and at MiraCosta College working with Veteran students. Olivia will be joining the Chavez campus assisting with ESL levels 4 -7, CISCO, small business and project management programs. Additionally, Olivia will be supporting the Housing Stability Equity Resource Center located at ECC. Olivia’s official contract start date is September 6, 2016.

 

Aaron IfflandAaron R. Iffland

Aaron Iffland has been teaching adult learners at multiple levels for over 10 years. He previously was an instructor at San Diego State University and Platt College in San Diego. Prior to moving to California, he taught at Rocky Mountain College, Montana State University-Billings and City College in Billings, Montana. Aaron has also worked as a technical trainer, network analyst, and private consultant. He recently received a Ph.D. in Education from Claremont Graduate University and San Diego State University. Aaron also has master's degrees in Information Processing and Communication and Professional Accountancy. He is extremely excited about joining the faculty at SDCE!

 

 

Denise Munoz

Since June of 2016, Denise has been working as an Adjunct Counselor at San Diego Continuing Education at the Mid-City campus and at Grossmont College.  Denise’s employment at Grossmont College began in 2014 where she took the lead in helping coordinate the Dream Center Program which provides appropriate college and community resources for undocumented college students. Denise will be joining the West-City campus assisting the Culinary, bakeshop, sewing, and BIT programs. Additionally, Denise will be supporting the New American Immigrant Equity Resource Center located at the Mid-City Campus. Denise’s official contract start date is August 31, 2016.

 

Carolina Gonzalez

Carolina Gonzalez Navarro

Since 2014 Carolina has been employed at SDCE and San Diego City College as an adjunct counselor. At SDCE she works with the students in the High School Diploma and Equivalency program providing academic counseling at the Cesar Chavez campus. At San Diego City College she works in the CalWORKs program. Carolina will be joining ECC assisting with the high school accelerated program. Additionally, Carolina will be supporting the College Transition Equity Resource Center at ECC and Chavez. Carolina’s official contract start date is August 31, 2016.

 

Reem PutrusReem Putrus

Since 2007 Reem has been working at Cuyamaca College as an adjunct counselor and in 2014 began her employment at San Diego City College also serving as an adjunct counselor.  At both institutions she has taught the breath of Personal Development courses, and she has worked with several counseling programs to include; transfer, First Year Experience, EOPS, Career Technical Education and Veteran Services. Reem will be joining the Mid-City campus assisting the ESL levels 4-7 and Child Development program.  Additionally, Reem will be supporting the Veterans Equity Resource Center located at ECC. Reem’s official contract start date is September 1, 2016.

 

Edith Quintero

In 2014, Edith began employment with the San Diego Community College District working both at SDCE and San Diego City College as an adjunct counselor.  At SDCE, Edith worked at the West-City, CE Miramar, North City, and Mid-City campuses.  Edith will be joining the North-City campus assisting with CISCO, CTE programs.  Additionally, Edith will be supporting the Foster Youth Equity Resource Center Located at ECC. Edith’s official contract start date is September 19, 2016.

 

Sany Ramirez

Sany Ramirez

In 2012, Sany began working as an Adjunct Counselor and Personal Growth instructor with several community colleges in the area to include: Southwestern College, San Diego City College, Grossmont College and San Diego Continuing Education.  Sany will be joining ECC assisting high school equivalency Child Development and the ESL 4-7 program. Additionally, Sany will be supporting the Parent Equity Resource Center at ECC.  Sany’s official contract start date is September 6, 2016.
