Food Fair - Woman with children receiving food from school counselor

Dear SDCCE Community,

I am proud to announce the exciting launch of SDCCE Cares, a comprehensive basic needs program designed to help students meet fundamental needs of food, housing, transportation, childcare, health care, and mental wellness. We connect students to dignified, accessible, and timely resources that will allow students to live well and thrive while completing their educational goals.

Please visit the SDCCE Cares webpage below. The SDCCE landing pages provide detailed information about all of the resources that SDCCE Cares offers. This page provides every member of our community with the information needed to ensure that all of our students successfully thrive at SDCCE.

Students who need access to resources can submit a request here. For more information about SDCCE Cares please contact Acting Basic Needs Coordinator, Jessica De Koekkoek at sdccebasicneeds@sdccd.edu.

Congratulations Dr. Shakerra Carter, Vice President of Student Services, and kudos to her entire team for launching this beautiful new landing page to reach more students and the community! Again, I encourage you all to visit sdcce.edu/services/sdcce-cares to stay informed of the latest resources and events offered through our Basic Needs Department.

Lastly, SDCCE is launching a basic needs study on January 17th to assess our students' basic needs post pandemic. The findings from the study will be used to develop intentional support services to meet our students needs.

Best,
