Dear SDCCE Community,

Thank you all for joining me at the 41st Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Parade! I would like to extend a very special congratulations to SDCCE's Welding Department, students, faculty, and staff. Welding instructor Mike Bradbury did a wonderful job in leading the efforts to design SDCCE's beautiful metal globe float - which I am proud to announce will be memorialized at the Educational Cultural Complex alongside SDCCE's past float entries. View parade photos here. Watch a recap of the parade on Fox 5 News here.

In addition to the parade, I had the pleasure of attending the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Human Dignity Award Breakfast hosted by the Jackie Robinson Family YMCA and the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. luncheon aboard the USS Midway, and the 35th Annual All People's Celebration. It was a very inspiring weekend and I look forward to continuing honoring the life and legacy of Dr. King during our annual Coretta Scott King benefit. More details to come soon!
