Save the Date - Spring Institution Day - January 30 - January 31 - In-person, online, and Hyflex

Dear SDCCE Community,

I am excited to celebrate the beginning of the spring semester and to honor our faculty, classified professionals, administrators, and students during SDCCE's annual Institution Days.

Please join me on January 30th and 31st at the Educational Cultural Complex for Spring Institution Day. I am launching a new and exciting campaign that reflects our college's 109-year history and look forward to where we are headed together over the spring semester! Be sure to RSVP!

Institution Day is such an exciting opportunity for our college and our camaraderie. I cannot wait to see you all and celebrate the latest campus updates together. Attendees will receive symbolic-themed SDCCE merchandise and many enriching professional development tools will be shared.

Due to the overwhelming success of fall convocation, I am enthusiastic to share the college wide campus closure that will give Classified Professionals the opportunity to participate in the first day of Institution Day. On January 30, 2023, all SDCCE campuses will be closed from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. so that every scheduled contract employee has the opportunity to attend Institution Day as professional development.

Schedule for January 30, 2023:

8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Arrive at ECC, check-in, and connect with colleagues
9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Presentations in the Theatre
10:45 a.m. to 10:55 a.m. Break
10:55 a.m. to 11:25 a.m. Break Out Session 1
11:25 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Break
11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Break Out Session 2
12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. President's Luncheon (Connect with Colleagues)
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Program Meetings led by Administrators and Deans

Stayed tuned for program meeting details happening on January 30th, and for enriching professional development opportunities on January 31st and a very special presentation from SDCCE's Clothing and Textiles department. The Zoom webinar on the day of the event will be streamed HERE.

*Please note that NANC employees will not be scheduled during this time. Employees who do not wish to participate must use their vacation hours. Please confirm your attendance with your supervisor.

Communication that SDCCE campuses will observe professional development and will be closed on January 30, 2023, from 9 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. will begin Wednesday, January 25th. This communication will include a message and banner on the SDCCE website and posted signage in common areas and near exterior doors on campuses.

Please RSVP to Institution Day by Wednesday, January 25, 2023
