Dear SDCCE Community,

Thank you all for joining me for Spring Institution! Yesterday’s energy was infectious across the college. We kicked off Institution Day with a traditional Chinese lion dance by Choy Lee Fut to celebrate the beginning of a new year. You heard from SDCCE’s VPs, the SDCCE Foundation, welcomed our new Interim Vice President of Instructional Services, Dr. Minou Spradley, and attended a series of breakout sessions and program meetings. Congratulations Carla Grossini-Concha on your first wonderful Spring Institution Day Flex planning and congratulations to our well-deserved Unsung Heroes of SDCCE. The excitement continues today, January 31st, with our Spring Flex program. Please see the SDCCE Professional Development webpage for a list of program meetings and workshops that will be taking place today. The sessions will offer professional learning and development opportunities for classified, faculty, and administrators. In-person, Hyflex, and virtual options are available.

Tomorrow marks the first day of the spring semester and I could not be more excited to welcome back our students alongside you all! I encourage you to take the knowledge you have learned during Spring Institution and implement these valuable practices into your work here at SDCCE. We are moving forward together!
