Dear SDCCE Community,
Welcome back from a well-deserved four-day weekend! Next Tuesday, February 28, we conclude Black History Month at the Educational Cultural Complex theatre and foyer. Please join me at 1 p.m. for the "Black Resistance Through Belonging and Reflections from Ghana" cultural presentation, art, and light refreshments. Learn about the expedition to Ghana made by SDCCE leadership alongside other community college leaders and students. This exciting research will expand equity practices across our college. All are welcome, this event is free and open to the public.
Additionally, please share this great opportunity with your students! SDCCE students are invited to attend the Community Health and Resource Fair hosted at the Jackie Robinson YMCA on the first Wednesday of every month. The Jackie Robinson YMCA will provide transportation to SDCCE students to and from ECC to attend the fair. Pick up and drop off will occur in front of the ECC main entrance every 30 minutes (on the hour and 1/2 hour) and transportation from the health fair back to ECC will occur every 30 minutes (on the 15 and 45 of the hour). The next fair is scheduled for Wednesday, March 1.

The Research Corner
The Office of Planning, Research, and Institutional Effectiveness (PRIE) will use this space to share research and planning resources developed internally or by our districtwide and regional partners. This week, we invite you to check out a resource developed by our partners from the District’s Institutional Effectiveness and Research Office, the SDCCE Student Profiles Dashboard (2022 – 2023). This data product contains demographic information for the College of Continuing Education student body by showing headcount data at each of CE’s campuses. The dashboard has been designed to allow drilling down on the information by age group, gender, and ethnicity. Take a minute to review this resource and email jrivas@sdccd.edu if you have any questions.

President's Office Hours are back! Individual zoom meetings will be 20 minutes and are available on a first come first serve basis. If you would like to schedule a virtual appointment with me, please email sdccepresident@sdccd.edu for detailed information.
