Celebrating Women's History Month

Dear SDCCE Community,

Participants in surviveHEADSTRONG Walk/Roll for RecoveryOver the weekend, I alongside VP Sabanos and VP Spradley, had the honor of participating in the surviveHEADSTRONG Walk/Roll for Recovery, a fundraiser hosted by the San Diego Brain Injury Foundation. SDCCE Acquired Brain Injury instructor Heike Kessler-Heiberg formed SDCCE's Team ABI to partake in the event 15 years ago, and Team ABI has since become a top donor, raising more than $245,000 since 2008, including $24,000 this year. I would like to extend a very special thank you to Heike, counselor Lisa Carulli, former ABI faculty Julie Pludow, SDCCE ABI students Mary Coleman, Lauren Furey, and all our students and community members for supporting this great cause. A portion of funds raised through the walkathon go directly to support brain injury awareness and ABI scholarships at SDCCE. View the Team ABI / surviveHEADSTRONG photo album.
