Dear SDCCE Community,

As a follow-up to the previous communication on May 12, 2025, we are pleased to share further updates regarding our ongoing efforts to enhance support for our students and instructional programs. We recognize the challenges and complexities of balancing our budget and meeting student needs, and we are committed to ensuring that we continue to prioritize key full-time positions that will directly serve our students and address key instructional and enrollment needs as we transition away from reliance on temporary NANCE roles.

In alignment with our previous updates, we are excited to announce the creation of three IA position and the hiring of four Student Services Positions:

  • Four (4) Student Services Technician (SST) Positions
These positions will ensure that all seven campuses will be staffed with an SST to enhance student support services directly contributing to improving student access, enrollment, and retention. These for SST's will be assigned to ECC, NCC, WCC, and CE Mesa.
  • Three (3) Instructional Assistant (IA) Positions for ESL
Building on our commitment to support the ESL program, these new IA positions will help strengthen our ability to provide essential instructional support, given the reduction in NANCE employees.

These positions represent a strategic investment in our students and will help us further align our resources with our academic and student support priorities. We hope these changes provide additional clarity and support as we continue to move forward, adapting to the evolving needs of our college community.

We understand that this is a time of transition, and we deeply appreciate your ongoing dedication and support as we work to strengthen our institution.

Best,
