Dear SDCCE Community,

I am pleased to announce, our Reopening Taskforce has finalized the SDCCE Campus Ready Safe Reopening Plan and have officially launched SDCCE's new Campus Ready landing page. The Reopening Taskforce has met several times to develop a list of resources including FAQs to address specific needs of our students, employees, and community as we return to our campuses this fall. The taskforce embodied full representation from across SDCCE’s departments, including participants from administrative, academic, classified, student senates, and our campuses.

Many hours of collaborative work went into developing the institutional plan, and I want to give a special thanks to the Reopening Taskforce Committee members:

Together we developed this plan in response to uncertainty from both employees and students regarding how SDCCE campuses will reopen safely for fall 2022. The Campus Ready page ensures a safe reopening and recovery from the pandemic in a way that is consistent with the COVID-19 protocols set by the district, SDCCE's strategic plan goals, and our Vision for Success.

The work we are doing now is critical to have plans in place to safely open as classes begin Tuesday, September 6, 2022. Our institutional plan provides a framework and guidance for departments and programs to use as uncertainty arises around safety and protocols.

SDCCE’s new Campus Ready landing page can be found on every webpage, here is the link: sdcce.edu/campus-ready

For additional resources visit the district page here: sdccd.edu/students/covid19

We will continue planning and convening with this work group to make data-informed decisions based our two guiding principles: 1. Student health, well-being and educational success and 2. Employee physical and financial health and well-being.

Best,

Dr. King
