Dear SDCCE Community,

Welcome to the 2022 fall semester! Following a very challenging COVID-19 Pandemic time, I am thrilled to safely welcome back our students and employees to campus. We are home to 30,000 students who come from the most diverse backgrounds in California, including immigrants, refugees, Dreamers, first generation, and military veterans.

As a small token of gratitude for SDCCE employees, I have placed fruit baskets at each of your campus lounges. I hope you enjoy. Here is a look into the first day back at César E. Chávez Campus, view photos.

I am excited to share the following on campus opportunities for students as we celebrate our welcome weeks:

• This week, SDCCE’s Office of Student Affairs and SDCCE’s Outreach Office are hosting two special events at all of our campuses, celebrating our return to the fall 2022 semester through Welcome Week Tables, which will serve grab and go snacks, and honoring the 235th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution of the United States of America with Voter Registration and Interactive Constitution Civic Engagement Info.
• On Tuesday, September 13, from 11:00am to 2:00pm, we will welcome Radio Latina to the Educational Cultural Complex near the Skills Center for live entertainment, giveaways, and radio promotion.
• The newly opened Immigrant-Based Support Program at Cesar Chavez Campus is supporting immigrants, refugees, and English language learners on Tuesdays 9am-5pm, Wednesdays 9am-7pm, and Thursdays 9am-5pm.

SDCCE is truly a special place, we have such a unique opportunity to transform lives together. Please encourage one another and your students to take advantage of all that SDCCE has to offer.
