Dear SDCCE Community,

November 13th marked World Kindness Day, a global day to promote the importance of being kind to people around you, yourself, and to the world. I was gifted a book, “Bella Learns Kindness in the Neighborhood'' by Roma Weaver. The book is beautifully written by SDCCE faculty, Terry Washington, and serves as a reminder to be kind to one another every day. Kindness goes a long way and is at the heart of what we do at SDCCE.

Enrollment Updates

Enrollment continues to be strong for the fall semester. SDCCE’s overall enrollment stands at 26,021 (15% greater than this time last year, and 1% increase from last week), with a fill rate of 81%, which is greater than last fall (75%). SDCCE’s overall headcount is currently 13,680, an increase of 28% compared to this time last fall (10,701) and a 1% increase to last week (13,552). FTEF scheduled for the fall semester are 9% higher than last fall (172.12 to 158.26). Enrollment management efforts continue, close to 100 sections opened this week with a remaining 8% of scheduled sections starting 11/8/2022 or later (59 out of 762). We are currently discussing our spring offerings and the percentages regarding face-to-face and remote offerings. Please know that this decision is data-informed based on students' needs.

Campus Ready

Currently, wearing a face mask is a requirement and is still in effect at all district locations and district-sponsored events including SDCCE campuses. Effective December 19, 2022, the District will no longer require face coverings on district property. To learn more visit SDCCD's News Center. To learn more visit SDCCE’s Campus Ready web page.
