Make an impact

Dear Treasured Community and Friends,

I’m so happy to be reaching out to you to make a difference in the lives of our students in every department during the December holidays. Please join me in making an impact through the gift of student scholarships! We know that scholarships make a big difference for our students.

100% of your donation directly supports San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) student scholarships, is tax deductible, and will be presented during SDCCE’s 15th annual “Stars on the Rise'' Scholarship and Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Educational Cultural Complex.

Many students who come to SDCCE are walking onto a college campus for the first time as an adult learner or are returning to the classroom for a career change or a second chance. The gift of higher education and workforce training is invaluable.

Through the generosity of the people who know our students best, their instructors, counsellors, classified staff and so many others who put our students right in the center, they now have greater access to pursue their next steps and to build better futures for themselves and their families.

Returning to college as a single parent during a global pandemic worried Tania Melendez. With the support of SDCCE’s 2022 Faulconer Family Scholarship and the Allgire Foundation Scholarship, Tania accomplished a Desktop Technician certificate, a Cybersecurity Analyst certificate, and an internship with Cyberhire. Now she is building a successful career in cybersecurity, hear more of Tania’s story on video.

With a goal to raise $10,000 we want to reach more students like Tania and we cannot do it without your support! Thank you for considering a contribution in support of SDCCE’s mission — to provide accessible, equitable, and innovative quality education and career training to every adult student in San Diego.

Donate to SDCCE's Employing Giving Scholarship, Counseling Faculty Scholarship, or Leave a Legacy and Create your Own Scholarship:

  • Employing Giving Scholarship
  • Counseling Faculty Scholarship
  • Start your own scholarship ($250.00 minimum)

I just donated and I hope you will too! Wishing you joy and light this holiday season,

Dr. King
