Make an impact

Dear Treasured Community and Friends,

All of your donation efforts have brought us closer to reaching our goal and impacting more lives through education! Together we have proudly raised $3,700 of our $5,000 goal. Thank you to all who have already donated and shared our campaign. You can still make a difference, donations are being accepted now through Saturday, December 31, 2022.

100% of your donation directly supports San Diego College of Continuing Education (SDCCE) student scholarships, is tax deductible, and will be presented during SDCCE’s 15th annual “Stars on the Rise'' Scholarship and Awards Ceremony on Friday, April 21, 2023, at the Educational Cultural Complex.

Many students who come to SDCCE are walking onto a college campus for the first time as an adult learner or are returning to the classroom for a career change or a second chance. The gift of higher education and workforce training is invaluable.

Through the generosity of the people who know our students best, their instructors, counsellors, classified staff and so many others who put our students right in the center, they now have greater access to pursue their next steps and to build better futures for themselves and their families.

Andrew Lloyd, a fisherman, enrolled in SDCCE’s Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) program after suffering a brain tumor. “During my career transition from fishing to welding, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2018, which pulled me out of work and lots of life aspects,” said Andrew. “I found the ABI courses at CE-Mesa and the program gave me the opportunity to continue welding.” Earning an ABI scholarship and the support from the ABI faculty supported Andrew's enrollment in SDCCE's welding certificate programs. He currently works as a fisherman and has a goal of becoming a traveling welder. Hear more of Andrew’s story on video.

With a goal to raise $5,000 we want to reach more students like Andrew and we cannot do it without your support! Thank you for considering a contribution in support of SDCCE’s mission — to provide accessible, equitable, and innovative quality education and career training to every adult student in San Diego.

Donate to SDCCE's Employing Giving Scholarship, Counseling Faculty Scholarship, or Leave a Legacy and Create your Own Scholarship:

  • Employing Giving Scholarship
  • Counseling Faculty Scholarship
  • Start your own scholarship ($250.00 minimum)

I am proud to create and contribute two $500 scholarships for SDCCE students including a President's Scholarship and a scholarship in honor of my mother.

Sincerest thanks,/p>
