Accreditation Update

by Kate Alder, Vice President, Instruction

Thank you all for your great feedback on the final draft of the SDCE Accreditation Self-Study. Final editing is still being done for style, format, and error correction. We will be submitting the document to the SDCCD Vice Chancellor for fact checking in mid-October and for final approval by the Board of Trustees in December. Then off it goes to WASC!

Our accreditation co-chair, Corinne Layton, did a fabulous job creating a presentation for the joint Senate meeting in September which highlights many important findings from the Self-Study. I am encouraging everyone to familiarize themselves with some of these points so you can be individually prepared for the visit. Click here to view the presentation.

In the meantime, there’s a lot more to do in preparation for the visit on March 13-16 so watch for more update emails. The next Accreditation Steering Committee meeting is on Thursday, October 20 in ECC, Room 186 at 3:00 p.m. and everyone is welcome to help us with the site visit planning.

It’s wonderful to be part of such a great team! Thank you, again, for all you do.
