Welcome Back - Spring Semester 2023

Dear SDCCE Community,

Welcome to Spring 2023! There is nothing like the first day of a new semester. At SDCCE, we have a lot of exciting new things happening at our college from doubling the enrollment to the launch of our student lounges, tutoring centers, expansion of partnerships and scholarships and much more this spring! It is an honor that our students have chosen SDCCE to further advance their careers. For many of our students they are returning to the classroom after some time away or are entering college for the first time. Thank you for making our students feel safe, welcome, and celebrated at SDCCE.

Gift basketsI have gifted each campus a Welcome Week basket symbolic of the Spring. In many ways, we as administrators, faculty, and classified professionals are the soil and roots of our students success. Our students are the flowers on a journey to bloom bright and are creating a brighter future because of the great work we accomplish together alongside them.

Please encourage your students to attend the following Welcome Week activities hosted by SDCCE Cares & SDCCE Outreach. All students are invited to participate in a virtual scavenger hunt by posting photos from the various welcome week activities with the hashtag #ExploreSDCCE. Students can be entered into an opportunity drawing and pick up snacks at a Welcome Week table at their campus. View Welcome Week Activities Schedule Here!

Lastly, my office hours will resume this month. I look forward to connecting with you and hearing about the start of the spring semester. Well wishes for a great semester!

Best,
