Dear SDCCE Community,

Pres. King, SDCCE's Immigrant-Based Support ProgramJune marks National Immigrant Heritage Month. Half of our student population at the San Diego College of Continuing Education are immigrants, refugees, and English language learners. Our students are non-traditional age learners attracted by our pipeline and pathways toward vocational studies that promote entrepreneurship and/or transfer to our sister colleges within the San Diego Community College District. These populations are additionally supported by SDCCE's Immigrant-Based Support Program, Outreach, and Student Services. Thank you to each of you for making our college a welcoming and safe space for all of our students, employees, and community members. #AllAreWelcome

She came to the Gateway program for help in finding work. Now she’s employed as an administrative assistant with the SDCCE Apprenticeship Readiness Program. Thanks to all who helped on the planning of this event, which was covered by San Diego Metro Magazine, KNSD San Diego, KUSI San Diego, Times of San Diego, and KSWB San Diego. Read more about the news conference in the Times of San Diego. View news conference photos.

We know it has been extremely heavy dealing with the loss of SDCCE student Chi Cao. When unexpected loss happens, it can evoke an outpouring of overwhelming emotions. Please know that we and our Be Well program want to do everything we can to support our students and staff as we navigate this tragedy. Thank you to those who have joined our “Healing Circle” to remember Chi. You may also reach out to mental health counselor Janisha Street at for available resources.
