Dear SDCCE Community,

Thank you SDCCD Groundskeepers and Facilities!

Welcome back from the unprecedented Hurricane Hilary. A safe environment is conducive to a successful learning environment. Thank you SDCCE community for all of your patience, understanding and support as we collectively worked together through the unknown. A series of emails and social media alerts were sent out to students, employees, and community members throughout the weekend. A very SPECIAL thank you to our Executive President's Cabinet, deans, supervisors and all facilities personnel and groundskeepers for coming to campus early Monday morning to assess all seven of our campuses. Our groundskeepers have been working diligently to ensure a safe and welcoming space for every student and employee. We appreciate each of you.

As a reminder, please RSVP for fall Convocation by Wednesday, August 23. Register Here!

If you have not had the chance, please take a moment to provide feedback about the 4/10 schedule introduced this summer. Help us determine whether we should continue implementing this scheduling modality in summer 2024. All responses will be anonymous. Take the 4/10 Feedback Survey

I enjoyed my first Jackie Robinson YMCA Board Retreat. Each of the board members are passionate and committed to the community we serve. It is a selfless act to serve. I'm thankful to join the legacy of the JRYMCA in Southeast San Diego!

The Research Corner

This week, we invite you to check out a resource developed by our partners from Centers of Excellence for Labor Market Research: the 2022 Childcare Industry Workforce Needs Study. This report contains historical and projected labor market data to better understand employment trends for childcare and early childhood education occupations, demand and supply of childcare facilities, and the landscape of business owners in the industry. Take a minute to review this resource and email if you have any questions.
