December 4, 2023

Dear SDCCE Community,

As we close in on the semester, I want to provide several updates. Thank you to everyone who attended the holiday party today at the Marina Village to celebrate a great year.

Enrollment for Spring 2024 classes is now available! New students should submit a CCCApply application before enrolling in classes and follow the Student Checklist (below). Returning students do not need to submit a CCCApply application. Here are important updates regarding our San Diego College of Continuing Education Application and Spring 2024 Enrollment procedures. More details are available after enrollment numbers in this message.

Enrollment Updates

SDCCE’s overall enrollment for fall stands at 29,723 (12% greater than this time last year and a 0.4% decrease from last week), with a fill rate of 71%. SDCCE’s overall headcount is currently 15,809, an increase of 13% compared to last fall (13,970) and a 0.1% increase from last week (15,792). FTEF scheduled for the fall semester is 9% higher than last fall (188.76 to 172.64). Enrollment management efforts continue, with 4% of scheduled sections starting 12/5/2023 or later (39 out of 941). View the enrollment report.

Weekly Enrollment Process Updates

Thank you Dr. Carter, Dr. Spradley, Dean Rubalcaba, Libbier Bakit and the entire SDCCE's Admissions & Records and Outreach Teams for sending weekly enrollment process updates and being present through this transition. See info below:

CCE CCCApply Noncredit Application

Students that are currently enrolled in Fall 2023 classes do not need to submit a CCCApply Noncredit Application in order to enroll for Spring 2024 classes. Upon the student’s first attempt to enroll for the Spring 2024 semester, they will be prompted to answer required questions. These are required once every semester as a continuing student.

Students that are currently enrolled in Fall 2023 classes should not be advised to submit a CCCApply Noncredit Application. Doing so can cause unintended confusion for the student.

All New CCE students will need to complete a CCCApply Noncredit Application in order to enroll in Spring 2024 classes.

All Returning (Discontinued) CCE students will need to complete a CCCApply Noncredit Application in order to enroll in Spring 2024 classes.

Students needing assistance with completing their CCCApply Noncredit Application can be directed to the any Welcome Center or Student Services Office.

Spring 2024 Enrollment Process

All active scheduled Spring 2024 classes will be available for enrollment without the need of a Permission Number on Monday, December 4th, with a some exceptions.

Exceptions:

DSPS: All DSPS classes will continue to require a Permission Number to enroll. For more information: https://sdcce.edu/dsps

ESL: All ESL classes will continue to require a Permission Number to enroll (except Levels 5+). For more information: https://sdcce.edu/esl

Healthcare: HLTH 605 and HLTH 606 will continue to require students to meet program requirement in order to enroll. Students can email for additional information on how to enroll for these particular classes.

HSDP: All HSDP classes, including INDT 500, will continue to require a Permission Number to enroll. More information regarding the logistics of the updated process forthcoming.

Specific AUTO, HVAC, Plumbing, and Welding classes are set to require a Permission Number to enroll to ensure they maintain their cohort group.

In order for a student to be able to enroll in a class that doesn’t require a Permission Number, they will need to have the appropriate Student Group assigned. For example: If a student would like to enroll in a Clothing Construction class, they will need to have the CTE Student Group assigned. If the student attempts to enroll without having the CTE Student Group, they will receive an error message.

We have over 3,000 enrollments for spring and registration opened today, Woohoo!
